I Think I Heart Video Blogging
If you missed my last blog entry, make sure you check it out. It sets us up for what’s ahead in the next few weeks. We are going to be chatting about protecting and nurturing our family and our marriages while right in the middle of planting a church. As for today - I’m totally just playing around with my first ever attempt to video blog. Hey, it’s a holiday. . . ![]()

Hey Amy!
You look great- don't be so critical of yourself.
I picked up The Love Dare a couple of weeks ago but haven't looked at it yet. Great minds think alike. I also love The Shack and plan on reading it again when I get it back.

Excellent, excellent, excellent! Bring on the video blog! Let me say, that's some pretty heavy reading for 2008! Great list of books, some of which I have not read (or heard of)! I'm going to pick up "The Shack" today. My neighbors all want to know my opinion on it (sometimes being "the pastor" on the block puts you in strange situations). I look forward to reading it.
Again, great first video blog! And kudo's on using Vimeo... good choice.

@Bobby - Kevin and I usually compete on how many books we can read in a year. He always wins, but I usually get the prize for the number of books actually read cover to cover. He's a great skimmer. . .I haven't mastered that art yet.
Yep, the video blogging is pretty fun - as long as I'm having a good hair day!

AMY! YOU'RE AWESOME! TOO FUNNY! Eric and I are reading "The Love Dare" too! And for whatever reason, I'm stuck on Dare #2...guess I'll unintentionally be taking longer than a person would think...Hey, can I borrow your "Maker's Diet?" That looked like a good read.

Just wondering if you or anyone else is working thru The Love Dare. On day three and already slipped up with the negative talk. Why is that so hard? I even left and went for a drive to calm down, prayed, and still couldn't keep my mouth shut when I got home. Why is it so important that he knows what bugs me? Why couldn't I just let it go? It really wasn't a big deal. Ugh.

Hey, Holly! Eric and I are doing the Dare too. I constantly slip up with negative talk (we've been doin' that for so long it's now ingrained in our systems!) The great thing I love about this book is you can get other stuff out of it too- other than whatever point the author is trying to make. Like with the negative talk- it's not something that either of us like to hear, but we point it out, try to be understanding (which usually blows up in our faces), and we are trying to be more forgiving and focus on that. Not that this would help? Good luck

@Holly and Anne. . .hehe I've got you beat. I couldn't even make it through day 1!! We were actually on date night having a "discussion" - got to the point that I didn't feel like "discussing" any more. So as we silently walked the mall I looked into my purse and there was that stinkin' book. I knew it was in the plan to read day one together, so. . .I gave it to Kevin and made him read it. Day 1 - "Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. - Eph. 4:2. . .darn it!!! Now I had to demonstrate patience in the middle of a "discussion." It said that if the temptation arises to be impatient just to choose to say nothing at all. . .so I didn't speak for the rest of the night. . .hehe no, I'm just kidding. . .but good for you. You have at least made it to day 3!! BTW - we're talking again
