Glocalnet’s Church Planting Program is Changing!

Beginning April 1, 2008 Glocalnet is changing the way we assess, train, and equip our church planters! Glocalnet has planted over 100 churches and we’re about to plant even more! Below you will find our new process for training our church planters. We want to be able to offer our “Glocal Engagement” training to everyone who wants it so we have changed things up a bit in order to accommodate the most leaders possible. If you have questions, please feel free to contact us HERE.

Phase One: Turbo Training

We will hold 2 Turbo Trainings a year. One at NorthWood Church, and one in differing locations throughout N. America. At the Turbo, you will receive some of the best training on engagement and community development around. If you are interested in continuing your training with us, you will proceed to phase two. Dates for the Turbo’s will always be announced on the “Turbo Training” Page of this website.

Phase Two: Online Pre-Assessment

There is an all-new online pre-assessment tool available that Glocalnet is utilizing to help you in your calling to plant a church. Once we receive your assessment results, a board of Glocalnet advisers will review them and get in touch with you. If accepted, you will move on to phase three. If you are interested in beginning a conversation with us regarding Church Planting, go to Church Planter Profiles, (you must complete the entire assessment, not just the free portion) and then email us at glocalcp[at]northwoodchurch[dot]org to let us know you have completed it.

Phase Three: In-Depth Assessment

We believe the key to planting a successful church is having healthy relationships, the most important being those of your family. Whether you are single or married, the next step in our process is having a face-to-face assessment done. Our recommendation is Green Lake Conference Center in Green Lake, Wisconsin. It is a 3-day intense assessment that takes your whole life into consideration. This is not only key for our assessment of who you are, but it is also key for you to know who you are. This is an incredible tool we recommend to anyone interested in any form of ministry, not just church planting. The details of this training will be given to you once you reach this phase of our process.

Phase Four: 5 Day Training Summit

This summit is designed to take you into an intense training focused on your actual needs and questions, not what someone perceives to be your needs and questions (what you normally get at a “conference” setting). Experts in the fields of church planting, business, global leadership, and community development will be on-hand to personally answer your questions and help develop your vision and goals. This training will happen once a year and details of it will be given to you once you reach this phase of the process.

Phase Five: Vietnam

While you do not have to participate in this trip*, we highly recommend it. We see this as the key to the entire training process. We will spend 10 days traveling Northern Vietnam experiencing everything you have been taught to this point firsthand!

*This trip will be mandatory for all daughter churches of NorthWood Church and those participating in Vision360.

Phase Six: Commissioning

Well, you made it! If you are a daughter church of NorthWood, you will be introduced to the entire congregation and you will be prayed over and given a team of people who will engage in a prayer covenant with you and your team. If you have a mother church in place already, you will go back to them to be commissioned through them.

Here at Glocalnet, we want to see more churches engaged in planting churches that transform their cities, their nation, and the world for the Kingdom of God. In that, we encourage you to come through this training whether you will be a daughter church of NorthWood or not!

“Church planting is not easy. Every person planting a church should take a maximum advantage of their preparation time – they won’t have time later! Also, I have a bias. If I am going to learn a skill, I want to learn from those who know the field. The Glocalnet team members have done it, have coached it, have taught it, and have lived it. Church planters would be well advised to take advantage of NorthWood’s Church Multiplication Center training for their own development. Their resources are biblical, challenging and thorough. I am excited to recommend them.”
