Opportunities to Help In GAZA
#1 Eye Doctors/Surgeons. They need help especially with people who can work on the posterior portion of the eye. Obviously they would want people there for a few months but will take whatever people can offer be it a week or whatever.
#2 University professors and teachers. There are 20,000 students at the University in Gaza. 60% of the students are girls. The two men sitting to the left of me are leaders there. The one on the far left is in charge of the medical school, and the one closest to me is the one in charge of international relationships. They currently have relationships with some western Universities, not sure any from the U.S.
#3 Faith dialogue. The man with Oliver and me is head of the religion school there - we spoke of bringing faith leaders from the West and having a conversation of faith between Islam and Christianity.
There are many things that are needed - the sky is the limit. These are just 3 that stood out - and the faith dialogue isn’t a “humanitarian need” as much as it is an “understanding” of each other.
I believe there are 2 institutions in America that could change the world for the better. One is the church. I’ve staked my entire ministry on that not just philosophically but practically. The second is the university. Sadly, both are the hardest to change - until they get desperate.
