I’M BLOWN AWAY BY THE RESPONSE!
I see these things that tell me all these people read the blog - didn’t believe it - until yesterday. OK, we’re going to do it - would you want a free-for-all OR specific things. Would you want me to invite some of my friends as guests. Just yakking here. I would do it once a week for 1 hour to begin with. Here’s an idea and potential outline, but I’m open to anything -
Week #1 - Global Diplomacy and Foreign Relations - invite some of my diplomat friends and just talk global nation-state issues or humanitarian issues.
Week #2 - World Religions - invite an immam, rabbi, athiest, etc. and me dialogue with them, with you.
Week #3 - Missional - church, religion and God stuff
Week #4 - Domains and engagement issues
Or do a 24 week thing and announce in advance - I’d still blog like I do, except on those days and then we’d do it -
What would be the best time.
I’ll do anyway you guys want - give me some ideas.

Bob,
I believe Bob that God is using the Body of Christ at Northwood for a great mission locally and globally; therefore, we must prepare ourselves to go to the battle ground with readiness and total obedience to His leading. I think it would be great to bring these people and address these opportunities on a weekly basis, one at a time, so we can instruct ourselves on what others believe, why they believe what they believe in and what brought them to that conclusion in life. I left the church last Sunday excited and blown away by what you shared about Cuba and Vietnam, That is the hand of God at work. Tuesdays or Fridays could be great or even Saturday mornings.
Thank you for your heart and leadership Bob.

Hi Bob,
Here are some of my thoughts, take them or leave them.
1. I think each session should have a specific topic and allow spectators submit questions regarding that topic. I can mark my calendar for topics that really interest me.
2. Provide some topics for people who are just getting started or are curious. You may have meant that in the missional topic, but I wasn't sure. I know I still have questions just about the contexts of scriptures, the history, etc.
3. Every so often have a No Topic session. This would allow people to submit questions that they feel don't fit into any catagory.
4. I love the idea of having guest speakers. I believe it would provide a richer discussion.
5. Logistically speaking, it might be easier to have people submit questions online and stream your response online rather than typing.
6. Allow the session to be archived for later listening or viewing. Sometimes, I want to go back to something that strikes my interest now but didn't then. Also, people who are in time zones that can't watch live and still participate.
7. I am not sure about the time. People work and have families. Maybe noon or 5 pm. Catch people at lunch or just after work before they head home.
8. Don't let Jordan ask questions with big long words that I don't understand.
Thank you for taking the time out of your schedule to engage with people from all over the world on many topics traditional churches would not address. I look forward to your insights.
Thanks,
Aprel

hey bob, love the idea if there is big enough "community" interested in this type of interaction! early morning or evening hours once/week would be great for many, i'd think. your suggestions above also appeal to many of us. would also be interested to talk about urban engagement dynamics, city movements, saturation-type collaboration. thanks for putting it out there---hope others 'pile on!'

Bob.... wow... you were getting 1-3 responses on your blogs but this got your 41 or more... do you think you hit a nerve? What a better mass collaboration idea! (Read that Wikinomics book you suggested). I hope we can do this in our region for our missions work to connect our folks and make us more available as leaders just like one of your guys said about ministers -- we could be in a small / medium sized room together even though around the world.

Bob, this is great! I love that you open yourself up in this forum. This is a great tool! And that our pastor is available like this is phenomenal. It’d be great to also have guests who are using their vocations as outreach, at work, in the field, etc.
Bob, this forum is clearly viewed by many folks all over various time zones, so — of course — there will be no perfect time. That said, I have to presume most are more local. I’d suggest a weekday evening.
I would suggest a set schedule with predetermined topics/guests. Because some won’t be able to participate, also provide for collecting questions in advance. These will be helpful if there are breaks in the interaction and those who submit these questions can come back for their answers after the fact.

Hey Bob,
Tuesday Mornings for me. Of course, that may be tricky with folks in other parts of the world, but we can adjust to their schedule. I like it! It's open, free and it is with people that are descriptive (people that are doing it). I love to learn from people, like you, that are doing it, and have been doing it.
I like Steve's idea about having people that are engaged in city movements. Let's hear what they are doing. Some of those ideas can be culturally transferable to where I am in DFW.
Thanks.

Bob: I am absolutely so thankful God has raised up men like you and people like those in your church...that sincerely believe in planting...I pray that this movement that Christ started 2,000 years ago will get a huge jumpstart because of your faith and action! Thanks, Doug
