Come On Starbucks - You’re Better Than That!!!
So you want people to try your instant coffee? Great - but don’t use our troops to sell your junk. I drink Starbucks Coffee - but hiring Marines’ moms to sit in their shops saying, “You buy one and we’ll send one”? WE SHOULD ALL SUPPORT OUR TROOPS BECAUSE ITS THE RIGHT THING TO DO - NOT BECAUSE WE MAKE MONEY OFF IT.
You should determine how much instant coffee you can give our troops - and give it - and do a video on them drinking it in Iraq and Afghanistan - you get good promo and you’ve done something good. I get tired of corporations putting off what they should do on their consumers - give me a break.

I prefer Dunkin. But Bob's right here. You are American, do the right thing.

I often feel the same way about much of the pink ribboned merchandise that is sold at this time of the year (i.e. I really dislike Yoplait's execution of their Pink ribbon program. <<Dear Yoplait, just give money to Susan B. Komen and don't make me mail in my Yogurt lids in order for you to donate 10 cents to the cause. >> I'd rather mail a check to Susan B. than lids to Yoplait!)
Though I must add in this instance, it's hard to judge the motivational intent of Starbucks. While I do acknowledge they are a marketing machine, perhaps these moms approached Starbucks to help them, rather than the other way around (much like a baseball team or youth group approaches working at Sonic to raise money and awareness for their projects). If this was their intent, I have to give them a thumbs up for their efforts to help the soldiers and for not solely depending on handouts (like Paul making tents to help fund his missions). Just another way to look at it.
