Hi Bob and Glocal,
I'm 54 and my lumbar spine is showing it age. I have an epidoral on it scheduled for 8/14. On August 15 and 16 I will be at "calling all men" an event organized by the Holston Conference (East Tennessee primarily) of United Methodist Church to pitch Affiliation of Christian Engineers to engineer-attendees and the religious "professionals" who minister to them in Holston Conference.
It looks like Save Darfur Coalition is going to go forward with a 2 pronged effort to get my profession of engineering to end its AWOL about how it is an enabler of genocide in Darfur, which is largely about oil. The 2 prongs are 1) outside in - Save Darfur requests the leaders of the major engineering professional societies to do something responsible and 2) inside out - Save Darfur Coalition tries to activate the tens of thousands of engineers in the 120 million members of its coalition members who belong to these societies to solicit them to contact these engineering society leaders and to tell them to do something responsible.
You, Bob Roberts, have the influence to make "glocal transformation" in this way happen, should you deem it God's will to exercise it. I do things brick by brick - I'll get there, God willing, but I searched for someone as you, because you have influence to speed it up tremendously, should you think appropriate.
But I do plan to be there it March 2009!
