ALERT:  The Underground Christian Resistance Movement (UCRM)

Yes it’s true - there is an Underground Christian Resistance Movement (UCRM) that is trying to stop and subvert Christianity.  I have heard about it before - but as I was looking at every angle and several issues coming to the forefront it became apparent to me that something was definitely a systemic attack on the foundations of our faith.

The resistance of the Spirit.  There are actually people that are determining for others how the Spirit can and cannot work in their lives - regardless of how individual disciples have heard God speak and how he is leading them - they simply deny that believers can individually and personally hear from God and obey him.  The chief conspirators of that movement????  Other Christians!

The resistance of the Great Commission.  These people believe in the Great Commission - but would prefer to pay others to do it.  They also have the idea that they are released from the Great Commission until their children are grown, or their parents die, or they retire.  The chief conspirators???  Other Christians!

The resistance of loving others.  These Christians actually believe it’s OK to fear, despise, and even vilify other people who are non-Christians because their religion or their lifestyle is not Biblical.  Gays, Muslims, and various races, along with specific nations all fit in this category according to their own personal preferences, opinions, or prejudices.  The chief conspirators?  Other Christians!!!!

The resistance of serving the least and the farthest.  These people work into their budgets what is left over or what is convenient to give and serve those who have the least, all the while thanking God for all his blessings on them - thinking God was blessing them just for their own personal sakes!  The chief conspirators?  Other Christians!!!

The resistance of releasing everyday followers of Jesus of fulfilling their God called missions.  The people want to keep people captive to tradition, buildings, budgets, so they can use the resources for themselves.  The chief conspirators?  Other Christians!!

I’m convinced more and more all the time, the chief obstacle to following God doesn’t come from pressure or persecution from the outside but from the inside of Jesus followers.  We love God, we want to do God - but all of us in different forms resist God.

Father - help me not subvert your will and the spread of the Good News of Jesus Christ by my unwillingness to follow you in every area of my life.  Never let me forget that my preferences for sin that keep me “isolated” from things I don’t like - don’t just hurt me, but hurt others that would be blessings of what you want to shower on them.  There is only one way I can do that - is to learn to love and serve my enemy as you loved and served us away from God as you say in Romans as “enemies” of God in total abandonment and immediate obedience.

This is very important information. I believe that we must examine our hearts, because we could very well be deceiving ourselves (Jeremiah 17:9). Thank you Bob for sharing.

Great word, Bob . . . the corporate Body all too often gathers to criticize, organize and ostracize without the intention of doing so. The reason we should come together is to encourage and equip in order to be salt and light as we walk out our lives in relationship to our King; introducing the world to Him through love and service. Thanks, Bob - God's Blessing and Peace.
